Olga Khaletskaya – Designer

I’m a collage illustrator with 10+ years of experience. I’ve illustrated over 20 books — including covers and interior series — alongside commercial and editorial projects.

My collage style works especially well for non-fiction, documentary, historical, and science-focused books, where abstract ideas, facts, and archives need to be visualized with care. I’ve illustrated everything from astronomy non-fiction to the memoirs of a forensic medical examiner (yes, really — see my portfolio), a series of 5 books of Holocaust memoirs as well as works of literary fiction.

For fiction illustrations, I usually develop 2–3 visual concepts to explore different metaphors and moods. Together with the client, we choose the one that best captures the tone and essence of the story and refine it further.

While I’m not a graphic designer or typographer, I collaborate smoothly with design professionals to create a well-balanced and effective book cover that combines illustration and typography.
